Cape Fear River Watch is a group dedicated to environmental education,
advocacy, and action for the Lower Cape Fear River Basin. Their
website is chock full of technical reports on water quality monitoring as
well as longer-term environmental impact assessments.
Background:
On Aug. 9, 2008, Governor Mike Easley signed into law SB 1967, which makes
permanent several revisions to the state's Coastal Stormwater Rules.
This final bill
was the result of a stakeholder meeting process that included
representatives of the regulated community, environmental advocacy groups,
state and local governments and many other organizations. To learn
more about the history of the bill and the process through which it was
created, please visit the General Assembly's Web site:
www.ncleg.net.
